Why Kamnik and the Snovik thermal baths are worth the trip

Kamnik lies north of Ljubljana and is one of Slovenia's oldest towns. It also serves as an ideal base for exploring the Kamniška Bistrica valley or the Kamnik-Savinja Alps without having to start a new adventure each day. The Snovik Thermal Spa is just a few kilometers west, nestled in a tranquil side valley. This short distance makes switching between destinations easy: exploring during the day, then enjoying warmth and relaxation later in the day. Travel to Kamnik and the Snovik Thermal Spa is possible by car, train, bus, or rental car, depending on your mode of transport.

On our trip, we particularly appreciated Kamnik on rainy days. Then the Kamniška Bistrica river reveals its wild course, while the hills of Tunjice, with their springs, appear tranquil. During a stroll through the old town, a café owner kindly pointed us in the direction of the Budnar Farm Museum. Later, the Snovik Thermal Spa was just what we needed to warm up, and we spent the night in the Eco-Spa holiday apartments.
