Bömers Moselle Hotel in Alf on the Moselle

The Moselle valley in Rheinland-Pfalz has a very special charm. On the slopes of the valley, the vineyards reach up to the crest. Again and again we see the names of well-known wines on large signs that show us where they are grown. A real region for connoisseurs! So we were excited about our accommodation at the Ringhotel Bömers Mosellandhotel in Alf.

location

Until then we hadn't heard of the hotel or the town. Our navigation device guided us from the street on the north bank of the Mosel in the center of Alf through increasingly narrow streets. So we got into the place. There we finally discovered the hotel sign on the thoroughfare through the town. From the city side, the hotel with its dark wooden balconies looks a bit dated. However, this impression changed quickly when we entered it. A cozy wine bar belongs to every hotel on the Moselle. This awaits the guest at the Bömers Landhotel right at the entrance. The perfect place to taste one of the excellent Moselle wines.

Check in

The reception of the hotel is not occupied all day. On our ring came immediately a friendly lady, who handed us the key and then led us personally to our room. In fact, during our stay there was always someone on the spot, we could ask for advice. The friendliness of the staff at Bömers Mosellandhotel is definitely one of the great highlights this small hotel has to offer.

Our room

Our room was on the second floor of the house. We could reach it both by a staircase as well as with a small elevator. It was decorated in a cozy country house style in friendly and summery colors. It also provided ample space to store our luggage and allow us to move around the room unhindered. For us as a travel blogger is always important if Wi-Fi is available in the room and this works, and that was always the case in this hotel.

The Bömers Landhotel also has a pretty flowered terrace at the back of the hotel. From there you look on a very quiet side street. After arrival you can relax there with a refreshing glass of beer. Sonja Gleißner, the owner of the hotel, had prepared for us a list of suggestions for excursions with which we could plan our day in the Mosel valley.

Hotel restaurant in the Bömers Mosellandhotel

Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant, where each guest is assigned a fixed seat for their stay. The breakfast buffet and the four-course dinner are served there. The ingredients for the simple and light but very tasty dishes come from the region. The chef is keen to use local produce. He usually knows the grower personally, so that absolute freshness and taste are guaranteed. And there are wines from the region, which are excellent for eating. If you want to stay overnight at the Bömers Landhotel, you should know that the menu choice for dinner already takes place at breakfast (or check-in). So the process of serving in the evening without much back and forth, and we can just enjoy our food.

Excursion destinations from Bömers Mosellandhotel

The best thing about Bömers Landhotel, however, is its excellent location. From here we explore the next day Alf and its surroundings and the surrounding villages Zell an der Mosel and Bad Breitrich, which keep some real insider tips for us. The hotel proves to be the perfect starting point for exploring the region on the Middle Mosel, and we can do it especially for walkers, cyclists (bicycles and e-bikes can be borrowed at the hotel), spa lovers (in nearby Bad Breitrich it a great spa) and of course wine lovers recommend. You will surely feel as comfortable in this hotel as we did.

TravelWorldOnline has been online since 2001. Their topics are trips to Savor, wine tourism worldwide and slow travel. During her studies Monika Fuchs spent some time in North America, where she - partly together with Petar Fuchs - traveled to the USA and Canada and spent a research year in British Columbia. This intensified her thirst for knowledge, which she satisfied for 6 years as an adventure guide for Rotel Tours and then for 11 years as a tour guide for Studiosus Reisen around the world. She was constantly expanding her travel regions, but curiosity still gnawed at her: "What's beyond the horizon? What else is there to discover in this city? Which people are interesting here? What do they eat in this region?" As a freelance travel journalist (her articles have appeared in DIE ZEIT, 360° Canada, 360° USA, etc.), she is now looking for answers to these questions as a travel writer and travel blogger in many countries around the world.
