If a hotel manages to convey this feeling, then I can thoroughly recommend it. And that is exactly the case in the Design Hotel Wien Sans Souci on Burggasse in Vienna. We spend two nights in this elegant design hotel Vienna on the chic Spittelberg to look at the Advent markets in Vienna.
The Hotel Sans Souci not only offers the best starting point for this. The Advent market on Spittelberg is around the corner, and the Advent markets on Rathausplatz, Karlsplatz, Naschmarkt, Mahlerstraße or St. Stephen's Cathedral can be easily reached by underground. The center, the historical first district, the old town of Vienna and Shopping opportunities can be easily reached from here on foot or by underground, which leaves directly in front of the hotel. And museum fans are well accommodated in this hotel, as Vienna's Museum Quarter is just around the corner. Hofburg, the Natural History and Art History Museum, the World Museum Vienna, the New Castle, the Austrian National Library and the Imperial Treasury Vienna are all within easy walking distance of the Hotel Sans Souci.

An elegant design hotel Vienna in the Museumsquartier Vienna opened in December 2012: the Hotel Sans Souci. It is located in a historic city palace that has been very carefully modernized. And although the hotel is equipped with all modern amenities, we can feel the touch of Viennese history, which is wonderfully preserved in this building. The modern design of the rooms and public spaces revitalizes the historic ambience of the house. Antique furniture exudes an opulence that is nevertheless not overwhelming. Original works of art by Roy Lichtenstein, Allen Jones and others support the elegant look in the hotel's public spaces.
Lifestyle Hotel in the Museumsquartier Vienna
We have already seen many elegant hotels on our travels, as our loyal readers among you know. But so far there has not been one in which the elevator took my breath away. From the magnificent lobby of the hotel, which impresses us with its mirrors in heavy golden frames, the beautiful antique chairs and the chandeliers, we follow the concierge down an elegant corridor that ends at the elevator that takes guests to the higher floors. When the door to the elevator opens, I catch my breath even more: the entire interior is clad with mirrors that are decorated with wonderful carved inlay patterns and give the small room a size that is created by repetitive mirror images. A design hotel Vienna that impresses us more with every new twist.
Room in the Hotel Sans Souci
Our superior room is no exception. Equipped with high quality materials and kept in bright colors, it makes a very friendly impression with its high walls. The golden wall tattoo of trees, birds and butterflies gives the room an elegant lightness in which we simply have to feel good. Another is provided by the comfortable linens and mattress, which have just the right strength to sleep in like clouds. In the bathroom, a rainwater shower ensures a special feel-good factor. And also the environment is not neglected with the energy-saving lamps, which are used everywhere, the motion detector, which turns on the light in the separate toilet as if by magic - and off again - and the energy-saving system, which shuts off all electrical equipment, as soon as the Room key disabled.
Breakfast at the Hotel Sans Souci
Our breakfast is included in the room rate and is served buffet style at the on-site gourmet restaurant La Veranda. The selection of food is extensive and healthy. It is well known that the eye eats with it, so I particularly like that yogurt is specially prepared and served in individual glasses, in which three blueberries give the whole an appetizing look. Among the various types of bread there are various spreads of products of the region. Apricot jam from the Wachau There are also fruit jams from the surrounding gardens. The Slow Food philosophy fits in with the maxim of sustainability that Hotel Sans Souci has set itself.
Friendly service in this design hotel Vienna
No hotel achieves this quality without the staff and service being right. And here too the Hotel Sans Souci convinces us in full measure. Whether it is the friendly welcome to our arrival at the hotel reception, the valet service helpful when parking our car, the detailed briefing on the various functions of our room by the concierge or the attentive service at breakfast - every member of the staff, with we are dealing with during our stay is always approachable and eager to answer our questions and to fulfill our wishes. There is no lack of anything in this hotel, and we like to come back.
