Enjoy wine and wellness at the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort Südsteiermark
“What are the beautiful spots on this earth?” I often ask myself that on ours Wine tour in Austria by the Styria. Today we are at the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort Südsteiermark in Ehrenhausen not far from Spielfeld. This is only a few kilometers away from Slovenia. You can hardly get any more southerly in Austria. Just a few minutes from the A9 motorway, this luxury resort is located outside of the village with a view of Ehrenhausen Castle and the vineyards in the Mur Valley.
The view alone triggers a sense of well-being in me that couldn't be better. This is compounded by what this hotel has to offer. Bright rooms, a service staff that addresses us by our name on the first evening. There is also a restaurant that conjures up delicacies that flatter the palate.

Feel good in the Loisium Hotel in southern Styria
The hotel is the sister hotel of the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort in the Kamp Valley. We are invited for two days to get to know the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort Südsteiermark. We also explore its surroundings. As lovers of wine regions and gourmet trips, we do not turn down this invitation. We are quickly amazed by what we find. With its wooden facade, the hotel blends in well with its surroundings. Since June 2012 it offers 105 rooms and suites with views of nature.
We like the rooms, which make a friendly impression thanks to the bathroom, which is separated from the bedroom by a glass wall and a curtain. The view from the balcony of Ehrenhausen Castle is breathtaking. There starts the South Styrian Wine Route, which runs directly below the hotel. This makes the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort Südsteiermark the starting point for our tour through the wine region.

Wine in the spa and restaurant of the Loisium Hotel
The name already says that wine plays a role in this hotel. Therefore, there is also a selection of regional wines here, similar to the Loisium Hotel in the Kamptal. The sommelier of the hotel restaurant presents these to us, precisely matched to the dishes that chef Dominik Stolzer serves his guests. We enjoy the Sauvignon Blanc from Benner am Rooberg. The winery is just a few kilometers from the hotel. The wine goes perfectly with our duck breast. For dessert – blood orange on mint salad – there is a Skoff berry selection. This winery is even closer to the Loisium Hotel. The same goes for food. Local and seasonal ingredients are served on the table. Sustainability and authenticity are top priorities at the Loisium Hotel in southern Styria.

Wine plays a role in the spa
We find the wine of the area not only in the restaurant of the hotel, but also in its wellness area. The components of the grape are used in the Spa of the Loisium Resort for spa treatments. There they ensure the beauty, elasticity and good appearance of the skin. Natural cosmetics are important here.
The Loisium Wine & Spa Resort in southern Styria rightly bears its name. Because "Loisium" is made up of two words: "Lois", the short form of Langenlois, the place where the first Loisium Resort was built. And "Elysium", which means something like paradise in Greek mythology. The latter in particular applies to the hotel in Styria. Its offers and surroundings ensure relaxation, tranquility and a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Here the guests can confidently let their soul dangle. So do we for a few hours!
