Discover the Netherlands sights

There are so many attractions in the Netherlands that our neighboring country continues to draw us back. We introduce you to three villages in North Holland that fulfill all the clichés you might have as a first-time visitor to Holland. Don't miss the Zuiderzee Museum. There you can see how people once lived in Holland. Rotterdam and Amsterdam are major cities worth exploring.

So far, however, we've spent more time in the countryside and on the islands. Texel fascinates us, as does life in the polder landscapes behind the dike on the Frisian North Sea coast. The Hanseatic cities are also very beautiful. The Netherlands is worth seeing during the tulip bloom. You'll also find travel tips on this topic in our articles.

More than tulips, cheese and windmills

When people think of the Netherlands, tulip fields, windmills, and Gouda cheese often immediately come to mind. But this small country on the North Sea coast has much more to offer than these familiar clichés. The Netherlands is a paradise for gourmet travelers, culture explorers, and nature lovers alike.

Between the North Sea and the IJsselmeer lake, fascinating landscapes, charming villages, vibrant cities, and a surprising number of national parks await. Cycling paths crisscross the country like a fine network, ideal for those who want to explore the region slowly and consciously. Sustainability is a top priority here – whether in innovative architecture, regional cuisine, or climate-friendly travel.

The open-mindedness of the Dutch, coupled with their love of design and good food, ensures that visitors quickly feel welcome. Those who delve into the country will discover far more than just the classic postcard motifs—namely, a way of life that hovers between tradition and modernity.
