We took the time to the lesser known beaches to explore. We also enjoyed the hidden paths through dense forests and along rugged coastlines. We kept discovering little surprises. Every day on Prince Edward Island brought new, unexpected experiences. We experienced the island in all its diversity and learned to appreciate it.

Prince Edward Island, also known as PEI, is a destination in Canada for slow travelers. The island is located in the Atlantic Ocean, east of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. You can reach PEI by ferry or via the Confederation Bridge.

There are many different vacation options on PEI. There are beautiful beaches, historic sites and idyllic villages. We were impressed by the nature. The island offers hiking trails, cycling routes and numerous outdoor activities. Those interested in culture will also get their money's worth, especially in Charlottetown.

We particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood, straight from the fishing boat to the plate. PEI is also known for its warm hospitality. Every day brings new experiences and insights into the relaxed island life.

Arrival and mobility

Getting to Prince Edward Island is easy. You can either fly, take the ferry or come by car. We drove over the Confederation Bridge. This leads from New Brunswick to PEI and offers great views. Alternatively, you can take the ferry from Nova Scotia. This trip is also an experience.

Once you arrive on the island, there are various ways to get around. Public transport is available, but not reliable everywhere. That is why we opted for a Rental car This meant we were flexible and could explore the island at our own pace.

PEI is a dream for cyclists. There are many well-developed bike paths that lead through the picturesque landscape. You can rent bikes and cycle some of these routes. The Confederation Trail is particularly recommended. This bike path leads across the island and offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nature.

Whether you prefer driving or cycling, PEI is easy to explore and has something for everyone.
