Executive Room at the Hilton on the Gendarmenmarkt Berlin

During our last visit to Berlin we spent a night at the Hilton Hotel on Gendarmenmarkt, right in the center of the city. The hotel is located in a quiet side street in a modern city palace near the historic city center. Sights and shopping are within easy walking distance. And the Advent market at the Gendarmenmarkt is practically on the doorstep. We are accommodated in an executive room, an overnight stay that includes a range of additional services that make our stay very enjoyable. What are these? See for yourself:

Our room is aligned to a quiet courtyard, so that we from the hustle and bustle of Berlin almost nothing. It is well equipped with a large bathroom, which has the usual facilities in such hotels and refrained from a particularly unusual design. It is functionally furnished and offers everything you need to feel good. The room itself includes a comfortable bed, a desk, a separate armchair, a mini bar, closet and storage space for suitcases.

Not quite so good, I think that, as in many hotels in Germany for the Wi-Fi use in the room to pay separately. And unfortunately, our USB stick does not work, so we spend an internet-free evening. Alternatively, we have the option to use free Wi-Fi in the Executive Lounge, which is open to us as guests in the Executive Room, but after a long day of discussion, we are happy to be able to retire.
However, access to the Executive Lounge includes some very enjoyable amenities that we enjoy using: the concierge service is included. So we simply park our car at the hotel driveway, have our luggage transported into the room and hand over our car keys to the friendly gentleman in hotel uniform, who parks it in the neighboring hotel garage for us.

Since we are in Berlin, to look at the Advent market at the Gendarmenmarkt, we refrain from the afternoon tea and the canapés and drinks, which are served there in the late afternoon and in the evening. Instead, we prefer to stroll about the neighboring Christmas market. The breakfast buffet the next morning with a large selection of cereals, breads, sausage, jam, fruit, eggs and bacon and cake, we can enjoy the pleasant peace of the lounge. We get the food ourselves, but friendly staff ensures that we always feel well taken care of. And there are the latest daily newspapers, with which we inform ourselves at breakfast about the current developments in the day's events. This is how the day can start relaxed.

After our extended breakfast we tell the two ladies at the exclusive check-out desk in the Executive Lounge that our car should be driven up and our bags are ready for pickup, go back to our room and pick up our handbags and our cameras. By the time we get back down, our luggage and our car are ready, so we just have to get in to drive home. All in all, a really pleasant stay in a well-organized hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. We would highly recommend the Hilton Hotel on Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin.
