Do you know what it's like when you're booked into a five-star hotel and don't know whether you'll feel comfortable in the exclusive surroundings of such a top hotel? In some of these high-end hotels, the guest is treated in a slightly condescending manner, and I usually feel kind of out of place. Completely different in Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto: the hotel is one of the best that the metropolis on Lake Ontario has to offer. It is one of the newest hotels in the city and one of the hotels located right in the city center. Only a few steps away from the Roy Thompson Hall, it is in the heart of the action in the metropolis.

When we arrive at the hotel with our luggage at ten in the morning, the gentleman at the reception greets us warmly, as if we were long-awaited friends. And so it continues. He sends us, along with our luggage, which an equally friendly porter takes with us, to the top floor of the hotel, where we check in at the Toronto Club Lounge. Shawn, our personal concierge, explains that we can have breakfast and points out that as club guests we have free wifi access and can have two clothes ironed if we wish. We can also use the steam bath and vitality pool in the hotel spa. The best thing I find is that Shawn patiently helps us create the best route for our Toronto sightseeing tour. As a precaution, he gives us his business card so that we can contact him if we have any questions on the way. "A real wow service!", I think.

When we return to the hotel in the evening, our luggage is already in our room. We get our key and feel right at home. The best, however, awaits us when we visit our room at 18. Enter the floor: past a bathroom that is so big that you could dance in it, and a bar with an espresso machine, we come into a generously sized bedroom with plenty of room for suitcases, a large, comfortable bed, stylish and elegant dressers and a desk inviting to work. The warm browns and reds of the room make us feel right at home. The best thing about this room, however, is the window front, which extends over the entire south side of the bedroom. From there we look directly at the CN Tower, which towers ahead of us with its breathtaking proportions. Until a few years ago, with its 553 meters, it was the highest television tower in the world. Next to it, we see the Rogers Center and beyond it opens up the view of the Toronto Islands and Lake Ontario, on the south bank of which I believe I can see the spray of Niagara Falls. The view is breathtaking.

All in all, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto is a five-star hotel that more than lives up to the demands that can be made of such top hotels. Yes, it even surpasses them in terms of the friendliness of the staff. Toronto's Ritz-Carlton Hotel is a hotel that we can wholeheartedly recommend to you if you are looking for elegant and exclusive accommodation in the metropolis of Lake Ontario.

TravelWorldOnline has been online since 2001. Their topics are trips to Savor, wine tourism worldwide and slow travel. During her studies Monika Fuchs spent some time in North America, where she - partly together with Petar Fuchs - traveled to the USA and Canada and spent a research year in British Columbia. This intensified her thirst for knowledge, which she satisfied for 6 years as an adventure guide for Rotel Tours and then for 11 years as a tour guide for Studiosus Reisen around the world. She was constantly expanding her travel regions, but curiosity still gnawed at her: "What's beyond the horizon? What else is there to discover in this city? Which people are interesting here? What do they eat in this region?" As a freelance travel journalist (her articles have appeared in DIE ZEIT, 360° Canada, 360° USA, etc.), she is now looking for answers to these questions as a travel writer and travel blogger in many countries around the world. Petar Fuchs produces the videos on this blog as well as on YouTube. Monika Fuchs from TravelWorldOnline is among Germany's top 50 bloggers in 2021.
