Enjoy the CN Tower View from a Boat

The CN Tower is one of Toronto's most famous attractions. It is the tallest building in Canada and towers over all the surrounding skyscrapers by many meters. When driving through the city, it can be seen from many places. But best of all, as we discovered during our stay in Toronto, you can see it from a boat, or from the offshore islands of Lake Ontario, which can only be reached by ferry from the Toronto Docks. Three of the tour tours, of which you the CN Tower view from the boat, we would like to introduce you here:

Boat trips from the Toronto Docks

On our stroll along the waterfront of Toronto we see very different boats at the docks of Toronto on Queens Quay: among them are elegant yachts like the Capt. Matthew Flinders, the Mariposa Belle sternwheeler, the smaller tour boat Rosemary, the showboat that reminds us of boats cruising the Mississippi, or the Oriole, which also resembles the riverboats in the American South.

All of these boats belong to Mariposa Cruises, which offer several excursion cruises: Brunch Cruises, Lunch Cruises and Dinner Cruises, always with food and great views from the lake back to downtown Toronto and the CN Tower. Which ship is used depends on the number of passengers. You better ask, when you buy the tickets, which boat will do the tour.

There are trips with a tall ship

A sailing trip on Lake Ontario for the CN Tower view from the boat

A few steps further along the waterfront, past the restaurants on Queens Quay, a tall ship is docked at the pier: the Kajama. It is a special experience to cross Lake Ontario on a three-master, which looks particularly impressive when the sails are taut. It feels a bit like going back in time when seafaring was still a real adventure.

The tall ship cruises on the lake for one and a half hours and offers great views of the city center and the tower of Toronto.

Take the ferry to the Toronto Islands - see the CN Tower view from the boat

We do not have time for a boat trip with one of the historic ships. Instead, an event during our conference takes place on Center Island, which, as the name suggests, is the middle island on Ontario Lake. We get there by ferry, which runs at regular intervals between the Toronto Docks (near the Westin Hotel) and the islands.

Since we spend a long time on the island and take a walk there, we enjoy different views of the city center and the CN Tower. A cheap and nice way to see Toronto from the lake.

See CN Tower from the boat
The CN Tower is the most beautiful view from the boat at night

Which of the three trips is the most beautiful? That's hard to say, they're all different. But they all have one thing in common: a wonderful view of downtown Toronto and the perfect view of the CN Tower.

What do they eat in this region?" As a freelance travel journalist (her articles have appeared in DIE ZEIT, 360° Canada, 360° USA, etc.), she is now looking for answers to these questions as a travel writer and travel blogger in many countries around the world.
