We were lucky enough to start our journey over the mountains on a sunny summer day. What immediately struck us were the mountain streams and waterfalls cascading down from the mountains into the valley. The water is also one of the highlights in the area around Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße.

Water treatments according to Kneipp

An attraction for families is the water playground with cable ferry and Kneipp pool on the Käfertal nature adventure trail. The path is in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps. More than 1.100 species of beetles, almost 300 species of large butterflies and many wild animals live at over 200 meters. At stations and on display boards, visitors can find out about the special features of the valley. But the water treatments according to Kneipp are not only in demand on the water playground. There are numerous Kneipp facilities in the region. The main facility is located in the mountain resort of Bad Fusch at an altitude of almost 1200 m. Springs feed Kneipp pools. You stretch your feet into the ice-cold water, let the mountain air blow in your face, find relaxation and recharge your batteries. A snack bar spoils guests with regional dishes and soft drinks.

Hiking and alpine huts

The holiday region is not just an Eldorado for hikers because of the water adventures. While walking and themed trails attract families, alpinists can put their stamina and stamina to the test on the 3.000m peaks. All information is there here and by phone 0043-65457295. But what would hiking be without alpine huts? Only half as nice. That's why it's worth stopping there and concentrating on nature, the silence and the mountain panorama. With luck you can even hear the whistle of a marmot.

You should not forget that if you want to hike in the mountains

Monika Fuchs and Petar Fuchs are the authors and publishers of the Food and Slow Travel blog  TravelWorldOnline. They have been publishing this blog since 2005. TravelWorldOnline has been online since 2001. Their topics are trips to Savor, wine tourism worldwide and slow travel. During her studies Monika Fuchs spent some time in North America, where she - partly together with Petar Fuchs - traveled to the USA and Canada and spent a research year in British Columbia. This intensified her thirst for knowledge, which she satisfied for 6 years as an adventure guide for Rotel Tours and then for 11 years as a tour guide for Studiosus Reisen around the world. She was constantly expanding her travel regions, but curiosity still gnawed at her: "What's beyond the horizon? What else is there to discover in this city? Which people are interesting here? What do they eat in this region?" As a freelance travel journalist (her articles have appeared in DIE ZEIT, 360° Canada, 360° USA, etc.), she is now looking for answers to these questions as a travel writer and travel blogger in many countries around the world. Petar Fuchs produces the videos on this blog as well as on YouTube. Monika Fuchs from TravelWorldOnline is among Germany's top 50 bloggers in 2021.
